Serengeti National Park
A million wildebeest... each one driven by the same
ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the
inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of
territorial conquests and mating; survival of the
fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through
crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north;
replenishing the species in a brief population explosion
that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the
1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.
Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, the
Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some
six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than
200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the
wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the
migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the
most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds
of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and
thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala
and Grant’s gazelle.
The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates
Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast
on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards
haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while
a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern
plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal
species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a
host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the
insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.

5 Days Lake Manyara/ Serengeti/ Ngorongoro
Day 1. Lake Manyara
Departing from Arusha in the morning, drive
to Lake Manyara National Park with lunch
boxes. Proceed on a game drive on arrival.
Dinner and overnight at camp.
The Lake Manyara National park is serene and
beautiful with main attractions of a rich
bird life, tree-climbing lions, its
elephants, and hippos that you can see at
closer range than most other places. Lake
Manyara is an alkaline lake and at certain
times of the year hosts thousands of
flamingos and a diversity of other bird
life. Although it is one of the smallest
parks, its vegetation is so diverse enabling
it to host a variety of wildlife habitats.
Day 2 & 3. Serengeti
After breakfast depart for Serengeti with a
game drive and picnic lunch en route and in
the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at
Seronera Campsite.
Wildebeest
You can visit the park all year round but
there is less game in the park during the
dry season – July /October, where they
migrate to the Masai Mara in Kenya. During
March to May the herds move in search of
grazing to the southern section and in May
to June, they move towards the western
corridor of the park. Serengeti in the low
season will still offer game viewing to
match that of any park in Africa, and for
some, the fact that there will be fewer
tourists may be an added bonus.
Day 4. Serengeti/Ngorongoro
Begin your morning game drive after
breakfast. Depart in the afternoon for
Ngorongoro Crater with a game drive and
optional visit to Olduvai Gorge en route.
Dinner and overnight at camp at Simba
campsite.
The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest
whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is
arguably the most stunning arena. It is
frequently described as one of the wonders
of the world, not only because of its
geological magnificence, but also because it
serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary
for some of Africa’s largest populations of
large mammals. Ngorongoro and other
freestanding mountains are volcanic in
origin, formed during the fracturing process
that created the Rift valley 15 to 20
million years ago. When it peaked in size 3
million years ago it was a similar height to
Mt. Kilimanjaro today.
Day 5. Ngorongoro/Arusha
After breakfast descend into the crater
floor for crater tour with picnic lunches.
Depart mid-afternoon for Arusha arriving
early evening.

Day 1. Tarangire
Departing from Arusha in the morning, drive
to Lake Manyara or Tarangire National Park
with lunch boxes. Proceed on a game drive on
arrival. Dinner and overnight at camp -
either Mto wa Mbu or Tarangire.
Day 2. Serengeti
After breakfast depart from your campsite
and proceed to Serengeti Nat. Park with a
game drive en route. Dinner and overnight
will be at Seronera campsite.
Day 3. Serengeti
Full day of game viewing in Serengeti with
picnic lunch in the park. Dinner and
overnight at camp.
Day 4. Ngorongoro
After breakfast, leave for a morning game
drive with your picnic boxes, departing
Serengeti for Ngorongoro Crater with an
optional visit of Olduvai Gorge en route.
You will have dinner and overnight at Simba
Campsite.
Day 5. Ngorongoro
After an early breakfast descend into the
crater floor for a full day crater tour -
departing mid afternoon for Arusha to arrive
early evening.

Central to the camp are two stylish common
tents. When the camp is occupied by multiple
small groups, one tent will serve as a
dining tent and the other one as a lounge,
where drinks are served and safari stories
are shared. When a somewhat larger group
(e.g., 8 people) visits in the camp, one of
the common tents can be made the exclusive
lounging/dining tent for that group. The
other tent will then be set up as a
lounging/dining tent for the other guests of
Sayari Camp.
The lounge tent welcomes you to completely
relax, sipping on your drink while looking
out over the Serengeti, reading a book or
discussing the adventures of the day. A sea
of cushions, a wide range of quality drinks
& snacks and a wealth of books on nature &
wildlife in the area make this a place where
you can easily loose track of time. Dining
is intimate in the dining area, but can also
be enjoyed privately under the millions of
stars in the Serengeti sky. Either way,
staff will prepare you a meal you wouldn't
dream possible in the middle of the camp's
remote wilderness locations. At night, be
overwhelmed by the many stars whilst sitting
next to the camp fire. Sayari's shop offers
local artifacts and camp gadgets: presents
for the ones staying behind or reminders for
an unforgettable time in the middle of one
of the world's natural wonders.
Accommodation
8 luxury tents with very comfortable beds,
stylish furniture and excellent bathroom
facilities.
Each tent has its own spacious private
verandah with a very comfortable couch and
chairs, overlooking the vast Serengeti that
is spread out before you. Inside the tent,
very comfortable king-size beds with
beautiful cloth and contemporary furniture
give the tent a very stylish yet homely
feel. Lighting in the tent can be made both
atmospheric and at reading strength. The
spacious bathroom has a shower, double sinks
and a ceramic flush toilet that is
environmentally friendly.
