Samburu Safari
Samburu Camping Safari on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro
river in Kenya. It is a hot and arid area characterised
by a parched landscape of hills and plains.
Samburu National Park has plenty of water, trees and
shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion,
reticulated giraffe and zebra from the surrounding
savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted,
gerenuk - an odd yet distinguished gazelle with a long
neck, which stands on its hind legs to feed.
Samburu is not particularly well-known and is therefore
not too crowded - a huge plus in Kenya where so many
reserves are often overflowing with tourists. It is
often grouped together with the Buffalo Springs and
Shaba National Reserves as they lie so close together.
Samburu is home to large herds of elephants and elusive
leopards. It is also well known for providing the
opportunity to see wildlife that only lives in the dry
north of Kenya.
There is a good selection of safari lodges and luxury
tented camps in the Samburu Region. Samburu Intrepids

Day 1: Nairobi / Samburu
Depart Nairobi in the Morning to Samburu at
the North rugged Semi desert region, through
harsh contains some of the species rarely
found elsewhere e.g. Reticulated giraffes,
grevy's zebra, kuchi, Beisa oryx's, Somali
Ostrich, genenuk, vulturine, guinea fowl
among others. Arrive in time for lunch
afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight
at the Campsite in Samburu.
Day 2: Samburu
Full day in Samburu with morning and
afternoon game drive, optional visit to
Samburu villages. Meals and overnight at the
campsite in Samburu.
Day 3: Samburu / Nairobi
Pre-breakfast game drive, after breakfast
depart for Nairobi arriving in the
afternoon.

8 DAYS SAMBURU | ABERDARES |L.NAKURU MAASAI
MARA
Day 1: Samburu
Depart Nairobi in the morning for Samburu
National reserve arriving for lunch. Samburu
is at rugged semi-desert region but so
beautiful with species of wild game rarely
found elsewhere. Afternoon game drive is
taken. Dinner and overnight at campsite in
Samburu.
Day 2: Samburu
Full day in Samburu with morning and
afternoon game drive, have an opportunity to
see the unusual reticulated Giraffe, Gravy
Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx,
Vulturine, Guinea Fowl among others. Meals
and overnight at campsite in Samburu.
Day 3: Aberdares (Mt.Kenya Region)
Depart Samburu after breakfast and proceed
to Aberdares through the ranchland before
reaching the foot hills of Mt.Kenya. Lunch
at campsite. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy
the environs and the spectacular views of
Mt. Kenya. Dinner and overnight at campsite.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru.
Depart Samburu after breakfast for Lake
Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon
game drive, view plenty of flamingos among
other different birds species, chances to
see the "Big five" expect the elephant and
many others, Dinner and overnight at
campsite.
Day 5: Maasai Mara;
Depart Aberdares after breakfast and proceed
to Maasai Mara stopping for lunch at Lake
Naivasha for picnic lunch Arriving Maasai
Mara early evening. Dinner and overnight at
campsite.
Day 6 & 7 Maasai Mara
Full day in Maasai Mara with early morning,
mid morning and afternoon game drive. Have
the chance to explore Mara which has great
herds of wild game which are found in Kenya.
You can visit the Maasai Villages-Manyattas
at a small fee paid separately and get an
insight to their culture. Meals and
overnight at campsite.
Day 8:Nairobi;
Early morning game drive before breakfast.
After breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving
by 1400 hours.
7 DAYS: SAMBURU | LAKE NAKURU | MAASAI MARA
Day 1: Samburu
