Masai Mara's Wildlife
The Masai Mara reserve is Kenya's most popular game park
in Kenya. Masai mara hosts an amazing concentration of
wildlife. You are guaranteed to see the Big 5.
Lions abound throughout the park as do leopards,
cheetah, hyenas, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, topi,
baboons, warthogs, buffalo, zebra, elephants, and of
course hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River.
The Wildebeest Migration safari Kenya
The Wildebeest Migration is a dramatic story. It takes
place within Kenya and Tanzania and is the greatest
wildlife show on earth. Between the open plains of the
Serengeti and the Masai Mara, thousands of wildebeest
and zebras migrate to greener pastures as the seasons
change and the circle of life and death continues.
Predators follow the Wildebeest Migration closely,
waiting for an opportunity to strike weak prey as they
make their way into different territories.
The precise timing of the Wildebeest Migration changes
annually and it is a very unpredictable and spontaneous
natural event. The calving season takes place in the
Serengeti between the months of January and mid-March
before the Wildebeest Migration begins heading towards
the western Serengeti in June. The best time to see the
migration is usually between June and August when the
wildebeest congregate and prepare to cross the famous
Grumeti River. There are a few excellent camps in this
area where you can stay to witness this natural
phenomenon. If you are in the Masai Mara you can expect
the wildebeest to make their arrival as early as July,
but they generally arrive between August and September
and remain in the Mara between October and November.
Between December and January the wildebeest gradually
begin their migration back towards the Serengeti.
We believe that going on safari to view & witness the
Wildebeest migration is one of the ultimate safari
experiences that Africa has to offer.

5 Days Masai Mara Camping Safari |
- 5 Days Masai Mara Camping Safari
Day 1:
We will leave early morning to make our way
into the Masai Mara National Reserve, which
boasts the country's highest wildlife
density. This haven of wildlife is the
northern extension of the Serengeti, and
home to the famous wildebeest and zebra
migration river-crossing.
We should arrive in time for lunch, after
which we will set up camp and have some time
to relax before our evening game drive. At
night we will be enthralled by the sounds of
the night, hopefully hearing the laughing
hyena and the lion’s roar from a distance.
Days 2,3,4:
We will spend these two days exploring the
beautiful surroundings and searching for
those unforgettable wildlife encounters. The
Masai Mara is known for its plentiful game
and abundance of predators. At this time of
year we should be lucky enough to catch a
glimpse of the start of the spectacular
wildebeest migration. And if we are really
lucky, we might even be spoilt to watching
these hoofed animals cross the Mara River as
the mighty crocodile lies in wait…
On one of these mornings we will also be
spoilt to seeing this wildlife spectacle
from the air, as we leave before sunset on a
hot air balloon safari. This unique
perspective of the Mara plains and its
teeming wildlife is an experience of a
lifetime and a photographer’s paradise.
Day 5:
We will leave early morning as we make our
way back to the hustle and bustle of
Nairobi, where we will sadly end our
adventure.
